In attesa dell'uscita del film "Immortals", che narra le vicende di Teseo contro i titani, Mugler, Juun J. e Cor Sine Labe Doli corazzano l'uomo contemporaneo con monili e accessori minimalisti, rigidi e lucenti. Mentre McQueen, Marc Jacobs e Raf Simons scelgono esclusivamente i dettagli delle scarpe.
Gli eroi galattici di Pierre Cardin del 1994 si sono quindi evoluti. Per avviare la trasformazione, il mitico personaggio dei cartoni animati He-Man, munito anche lui da bracciali dorati, ci ricorda l'energetica formula vincente:

Lo storico francese Michel Pastoureau ha da lungo tempo messo in luce il problema che l'arte, fino a pochi anni fa, è stata sostanzialmente in bianco e nero. Diffusa dapprima con le incisioni tramite l'avvento della stampa, poi trasmessa su larga scala con la nascita della fotografia. Pensate a quale incommensurabile perdita saremmo destinati se di tutte le opere che conosciamo non avessimo altro che due toni con le loro sfumature. La moda fa suo l'insegnamento e fa i compiti a casa.
Incoraggiati da un capolavoro come Pleasantville, gli hair stylist riscrivono le regole della capigliatura, oltrepassando le banali categorie e convenzioni limitate al biondo, nero, castano, rosso e bianco, colorando di sentimenti ed emozioni le teste maschili. Si scoprono così acconciature degne di un punk anni ottanta e di un adolescente giapponese fanatico di manga. E la tavolozza si arricchisce di caramellate nuance pastello blu, rosa e turchese, debitrici delle fatiche di Michelangelo, Tiepolo e Pontormo.

I nostalgici anglofili potranno tirare un sospiro di sollievo. Perchè? Sono tornate in voga le tradizionali bretelle inglesi abbottonate alla cintura dei pantaloni.
In perfetto accordo con le tendenze neoromantiche degli anni ottanta, per l'estate 2011 aleggia uno stile tradizionalista un po' manierato, che tira fuori dal baule accessori incisivi ed emblematici, ideali per un film in costume da girare direttamente per strada o alle feste più cool.
