Entriamo nell’Espace Culturel, spazio museale all’ultimo piano del palazzo Vuitton sugli Champs-Élysées, che ospita tre esposizioni all’anno e il cui accesso è per tutti gratuito. Titolo della mostra in corso è “Anicroches. Variazioni, corali e fughe”. Il tema è il suono, concepito come un viaggio.
Quante volte difatti il suono e il rumore ci hanno trasportato nei luoghi più remoti della memoria, ci hanno fatto fuggire dal tedio quotidiano o hanno rotto i nostri schemi percettivi, siglando un momento assolutamente banale in un momento scolpito nel tempo? Oltre l’idea di arte appesa al muro, lo stimolo sonoro avvolge il nostro sensorio invadendo l’ambiente. Ma non si tratta solo di passaggi musicali armoniosi, magari provenienti dalla natura o dallo spartito di qualche abile compositore di cui noi siamo i fruitori passivi, ma di rumori, e noi ne possiamo essere i diretti artefici. Il risultato finale è irripetibile, inaspettato, sorprendente, dovuto al caso. La malattia che viene curata è l’atrofia dei sensi, combattuta nel medesimo campo sin dal 1913 dal futurista Luigi Russolo e perseguita oggi dagli artisti presenti in mostra. Tra le installazioni più coinvolgenti quella di Christina Kubisch. Cuffie alle orecchie e, attraversando una selva intricata di fili metallici, veniamo solleticati dal ronzio dei campi magnetici generati da correnti elettriche. Il corpo finisce così per scolpire l’ambiente sonoro. Stupefacente!
Non ci rimane che concludere citando l’artista John Cage augurandovi: “Happy New Ears!”

“Anicroches. Variations, choral and fugue” open until 19th February 2012
Second day with Louis Vuitton. Discovering the Espace Culturel, which is an art gallery on the top of Vuitton store at Champs-Élysées, with three exhibitions a year and free access to public. “Anicroches. Variations, choral and fugue” is the current one. Its main theme is the sound, conceived as a journey.
Can you remember how many times sounds and noises have brought you back places and memories, escaping from the daily reality or breaking the perceptual rules, turning an apparently normal moment into an eternal and unforgettable one? Apart from the idea of art meant as a painting, the sound stimulus enshrouds our perceptions, invading the environment. But it is not only about harmonies, coming from nature or song paper, whose we are solely watchers, but mostly about noises that we can directly create. The final result is unique, unexpected, astonishing and fortuitous. The cured illness is the atrophy of senses, which has already been fought against in the same field by the Futurist Luigi Russolo since 1913 and pursued by each artist of this exhibition. The most involving installation amongst all is probably Christina Kubish’s one. There are cables through which pass electromagnetic waves translated into sound by headphones and when you walk around them you hear different noises. That’s incredible!
And at the end we cannot avoid mentioning the artist John Cage, wishing you all: “Happy New Ears”!
