Giovane designer che insieme a Umit Benan, Hussein Chalayan ed Erkan Çoruh, sta contribuendo ad arricchire una costellazione di formidabili creativi del firmamento turco. L’attenzione che col tempo si stanno conquistando questi protagonisti della moda non è il risultato dell’esotismo di stampo settecentesco, di mero amore per il nuovo, bensì di un valore concreto a cui non si può rimanere insensibili.
Uzuntas lavora sugli elementi primari dell’abbigliamento maschile, come un allievo chiamato da un esigente precettore ad eseguire una originale variazione sul tema. Il prodotto finale è quello di un artigiano il cui scopo è esaltare la limpida purezza di una pietra grezza attraverso il taglio e l'armonia dell'insieme. Punti forti della sua collezione sono i particolari accostamenti dei tessuti, ad esempio il nylon e la lana, il rigore dell’abbigliamento militare e la vivacità che proviene da Notthing Hill, quartiere londinese in cui abita Uzuntas, le cui strade danno il nome ad ogni capo. I tessuti sono invece scelti in Italia e vengono prodotti nella sua terra d’origine. Per un'immaginazione senza confini.
