Cast Back: George Platt Lynes VS Dominique Isserman

In 1953 George Platt Lynes photographed Nino Sansone, who was son of the more famous Tony, leaning on a bar. A shot not so well known in which Platt Lynes used the expedient of the horizontal bar to favour a perfect compositional balance, heated by the sensuality of the towel rolled up around the waist and the intriguing mystery caused by the hidden face.
Dominique Issermann drew on the same idea for the advertising campaign of the fragrance Eau Sauvage by Christian Dior in 1987 and in 2012 the Canadian retailer Simons chose Diego Miguel in a more dynamic and relaxed pose, appealing to the model’s beauty rather than to the incisiveness of the image.
