Nob Spots! Paris Fashion Week S/S 2012 - Day 3: Henrik Vibskov

Around the mankind in 80 days… Henrik Vibskov reverses the points of view and he let the world spin around men. An artist of the steampunk era takes shape in an interlocking game where he changes clothes and roles, as in a mazy atmosphere a la Giovanni Battista Piranesi.

Nob Spots! Paris Fashion Week S/S 2012 - Day 3: Walter Van Beirendonck

Sometimes fashion loses its function and it turns into a playful work of art. It happened during a Parisian fashion show, presented as a performance where models walked like living sculptures.
It’s not a joke about fashion world, but Walter Van Beirendonck’s latest catwalk. Who else could have done it? He’s like an amused puppeteer of a world made of gummy and fluffy characters ready to come to life, sprinkled with a kaleidoscopic rain of bubblegum colours. The leitmotif is the cloud, as platform of our dreams.
The fashion show is part of “Wear Me Out” exhibition at Antwerp Middelheim Museum in collaboration with Erwin Wurm, who is the artist behind the sculpture-clothes. Furthermore Antwerp Fashion Museum will present the first great retrospective of Walter Van Beirendonck, from 14th September until 19th February.

Outclass Spring/Summer 2011

You can fall in love at first sight. Some other times chemistry develops over time. The same goes for fashion and style meetings.
The case in point is with no doubts a coup de foudre. A few items, leather accessories, a fresh and natural campaign editorial and a well-defined identity for a future that seems promising. Outclass is the name of the brand. The young Italian-Canadian Matteo Sgaramella is the designer, who explained us the meaning of its logo and history. “The fish hook represents self sufficiency, the umbrella urban sophistication, the snowflake the elements that we are faced with. In Canada we need fashion that can withstand the forces of nature, but we shouldn’t have to sacrifice style. I wanted to create a brand able to show what contemporary Canadian culture really is”.
The country of the Maple Leaf doesn’t seem to be very attentive to young talents, but if this self-made man carries on this way, he will surely make a name for himself.

Nob Spots! Paris Fashion Week S/S 2012 - Day 2: Alexis Mabille

Alexis Mabille cambia rotta.

Alexis Mabille changes route. At the beginning he became famous for his bow ties and not far away he decided to dress men from head to toe. This time he seems to restart again, leaving the models in briefs. A re-launching of the brand that aims at new frontiers thanks to an underwear line that smells of salty sea air and summer loves. So it has been a short step from tying a bow tie to knotting.
