La sfilata è parte della mostra al Middelheim Museum di Anversa “Wear Me Out” dell’artista Erwin Wurm, che ha collaborato per la creazione degli abiti scultura. E siccome siamo in argomento, dal 14 settembre al 19 febbraio, il Fashion Museum di Anversa presenterà la prima grande retrospettiva su Walter Van Beirendonck.
Sometimes fashion loses its function and it turns into a playful work of art. It happened during a Parisian fashion show, presented as a performance where models walked like living sculptures.
It’s not a joke about fashion world, but Walter Van Beirendonck’s latest catwalk. Who else could have done it? He’s like an amused puppeteer of a world made of gummy and fluffy characters ready to come to life, sprinkled with a kaleidoscopic rain of bubblegum colours. The leitmotif is the cloud, as platform of our dreams.
The fashion show is part of “Wear Me Out” exhibition at Antwerp Middelheim Museum in collaboration with Erwin Wurm, who is the artist behind the sculpture-clothes. Furthermore Antwerp Fashion Museum will present the first great retrospective of Walter Van Beirendonck, from 14th September until 19th February.
