Unexpected Italy - Orvieto



Orvieto è una piccola città medievale umbra dal pattern cromatico ricchissimo, famosa per il duomo progettato da Lorenzo Maitani nel XIV secolo, straordinario esempio di architettura gotica in Italia.
Per scoprire i tesori di questo borgo basta sapersi avvicinare un po' alla pelle delle cose e tutto d'un tratto vicoli bui e misteriosi si trasformano in vivaci angoli brillanti di luci e colori. Quasi un mondo incantato popolato da creature fantastiche alla mago di Oz...












Orvieto is a small medieval village in Umbria, region of Central Italy. It has rich chromatic patterns and it is famous for its cathedral, planned by Lorenzo Maitani in the XIV century, extraordinary example of Italian Gothic architecture.
To discover the treasures of this small town you simply have to know how to come closer to the things' surface and all the mysterious and dark alleys suddenly become lively shiny corners full of lights and colours. Almost an enchanted world populated by fantasy creatures like in the Wizard of Oz...

    Orvieto is near Perugia and Assisi, do you know them? Anyway it is a city of Umbria, region of Central Italy, between Florence and Rome.
