Poco dopo ho iniziato a giocare a calcio, basket e a correre in modo competitivo.

WHAT KIND OF SPORT DO YOU USUALLY PLAY? DO YOU HAVE A SPECIFIC WAY OF TRAINING?
I enjoy all types of sports from running to football (yes both the World's game and the American version), beach volleyball, skiing, basketball and any sort of fitness sport like CrossFit. Being a well-rounded athlete is a key component to my training for myself and my clients. You are more focused when you train like an athlete and take your training more seriously. Training is not something an athlete does to lose weight or get stronger. Those are ancillary effects of getting yourself to be in better shape overall. A nice physique is the result of this training.

HOW MANY DAYS A WEEK DO YOU TRAIN YOURSELF? AND HOW MANY HOURS A DAY?
I train about 6 days a week myself for about 1-1.5 hrs each day. Due to my hectic schedule though, sometimes I may have only a half hour to get in a workout in the mid-morning and then another portion later in the day. This has helped me to be more efficient with my time. I train across all 3 of the different energy systems: Phosphagen for strength and power, Glycolytic for anaerobic threshold and Oxidative for aerobic performance. This also ensures a well-rounded physique--one that is strong without being overly bulky--I still only wear a 40R suit for instance. On any given day you can find me hitting some sort of Olympic lift (snatch or clean and jerk) working on gymnastics skills such as handstands and then some sort of PowerLifting movement like deadlifts or squats followed by rowing or sprinting or even a 5 mile trail run. By working across all the different energy systems, I ensure that I will be a well-rounded athlete. There are too many PowerLifters who get winded walking up a flight of stairs and too many Marathoners who can't do a pull-up or a push-up. The trick is finding the right balance to bring out your inner athlete.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TRAINING YOURSELF?
I have been training since I was a young boy; working out has been a part of my lifestyle ever since. My dad had my brother and I doing pull-ups and push-ups in the basement since I was about 5 yrs old. I started playing Soccer, basketball and running competitively shortly thereafter. I eventually added on other sports like skiing, beach volleyball and CrossFit once my collegiate running days were behind me.

WHAT IS YOUR EATING STYLE?
I try to eat a balance of healthy, whole foods while avoiding sugary foods and drinks like white bread and sodas. My day usually looks like this:
- Breakfast → bowl of Greek yogurt with berries, walnuts and chia seeds.
- Mid-morning snack → 3 eggs with avocado on seven grain bread.
- Lunch → spinach salad with a little oil and vinegar with a medley of 5+ vegetables and assorted nuts and seeds.
- Mid-afternoon snack → handful of roasted almonds (non-salted) and a piece of fruit.
- Dinner → 2 chicken breasts with a sweet potato and broccoli.
Simple, healthy meals that have high nutritional value and low sugars are key.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE TIME ZONE TO TRAIN?
My favorite time to train is usually mid-morning or early afternoon. However, my wife and I are expecting our first baby very soon, so I am sure that schedule will be subject to change to "whenever possible."

WHAT ARE THE ADVICE THAT YOU WANT TO GIVE TO MY READERS WHO WANT TO START A FITNESS PROGRAM?
There is no time like the present to start your fitness program. Ask yourself: "What is holding you back from the healthier version of who you really are?" Identify whatever that may be and crush it! You only have one life to live, so celebrate your health each and every day.

WHAT ARE THE TIPS FOR SPORTSMEN AT ADVANCED LEVEL TO IMPROVE STRENGHT AND MUSCLE MASS?
Training is a science that many guys get wrong for one reason or another. They think they should do 3 sets of ten on every exercise for instance. I recently wrote an article (click here to read it) that matches your rep schemes to your training goals. Too many times guys think they are training for mass when doing 3 reps of an exercise or absolute strength when doing 12 reps of an exercise. Identify what your true goals are and match your exercises and rep schemes accordingly.
