New Silhouette for Men

L’enfasi è posta su braccia e spalle.
Ma cosa sta accadendo all’uomo contemporaneo?

The male silhouette radically changed with the arrival of Hedi Slimane at Dior in 2000. The skinny models on the catwalk brought by the French designer influenced the street style and the menswear too. Men were finally relieved by the mental and material weight of the oversized trend of the eighties-nineties. But in the latest decade a new mutation is going on: pumped items, with XXL proportions, Hulk-style. The emphasis is placed on arms and shoulders.
But what does it happen to the contemporary man? Is he recovering the recent past proportions to face this slick world? Are these clothes the expansions of our immense ego? Bigheads, some would say. And Ulf Poschardt words reecho “there where man exalts himself as a superman, his end has already come”.

  2. Thank you very much for your comment.

Fashion evolves, it is an absolute truth. The volumes provide a lighter and more práctira mobility, the costumes sartorialist. But I confess a defender all slim line, in all its facets ... Although collections fascinate me and Mathias Bergh Valentino for this coming winter.

    A greeting.
